So this was a broken lever from a fireplace. It includes a spiral groove that engages with another lever and allows the flu to be opened or closed, and requires square holes for a square shaft that allows for the engagement. From this broken sample we were able to reproduce the part out of mild steel instead of cast iron. All together this part probably took less time to machine, than to dimension and program, but, the customer was happy and that makes us happy.
